OK, it sounds like one of these things is happening: -- you're not using the correct upload settings when uploading the video file; -- you're not selecting the HD version of the video to play on YouTube; or, -- the video file isn't properly encoded prior to upload
For the get-go i, what options does YouTube give you lot when uploading the video, if whatever? Also, it apparently automatically converts all videos to a 16:9 aspect ratio if they aren't already in that format (4:3 vidoes go "pillars" on the left & right sides).
For the 2nd ane, understand that (similar Facebook) YouTube by default shows a lower quality video, unless you choose to sentinel a higher quaility version. Even videos that are uploaded at 720p or 1080p resolution, by default, will prove up as either 320p or 480p. You can even so watch the college-resolution video, but yous have to manually select that version (if it's available). Click on the gear icon & select the quality that you want.

Appears to have recommended video/audio & format encoding settings to use for the video file before uploading information technology to YouTube.

Thank you for the reply, I went to that link, and I have a question about it.
At 1 office it says
Video codec: H.264
Progressive scan (no interlacing) High Profile 2 consecutive B frames Airtight GOP. GOP of half the frame charge per unit. CABAC Variable bitrate. No bitrate limit required, though we offer recommended bit rates below for reference Blush subsampling: four:2:0
how would I check if my video has progressive scan, high contour, ii consecutive B frames, etc.?

Depends on the source of the file. If it was created by conversion from some other file format (i.e. converting from AVI to WMV), then you would desire to check the settings in the conversion program. If information technology was created from some other device (i.east. digital camera, digital video recorder, etc.), you can check the transmission for the file specifications it uses, or bank check on the vendor's support page. If it was created past a screenshot programme (i.e. AMD'southward Raptr), the Help file or manual should have the file specifications at that place.
There might also exist some programs out in that location that can clarify a file & determine what its settings are, simply I don't really practise video editing, so it's starting to get out of my areas of expertise. Nonetheless, the iClarify site (which is apparenlty a program for Macs that can scan a file) said that GSpot can be used on Windows PCs in place of iClarify.

I had the aforementioned problem today with my uploaded videos on Youtube.
They were non in 1080p & I could but watch them in 720p.
I found out information technology was a Chrome extension that was bugging the aqueduct called (Magic actions for YouTube) & how I fixed it was, I deleted the Magic deportment for YouTube extension.
Then, I added the extension back to Chrome without changing the Enable Auto Hard disk drive & Force player blazon settings.
Now my videos are back at 1080p.

YouTube compresses all of their videos regardless of the resolution. You can improve the quality by rendering it out in 1440p or higher then uploading information technology, because all of those videos get a better codec, called VP9, which will look better even on the lower resolution settings. And, 1440p+ too get higher bitrate from YouTube. Yous can find the codec of whatever video you lot are watching by right clicking => Stats for nerds. Usually it will say something like vp9 or avc1.XXXX.

The fabricated my 1080p recorded motorcycle videos look much amend. I could record in 4K but it uses upward too much retentivity and bombardment on my Sony FDR X3000 and HDR AS300s. The 1080p video looks slap-up when I return at 1920x1080 15MPS bitrate only when I upload to youtube it can get blurry. From now on in I volition render my 1080p videos at 4k and upload to Youtube.

For the first 1, what options does YouTube give you lot when uploading the video, if any? Also, information technology manifestly automatically converts all videos to a 16:9 aspect ratio if they aren't already in that format (iv:3 vidoes go "pillars" on the left & correct sides).
For the 2nd one, understand that (similar Facebook) YouTube by default shows a lower quality video, unless you cull to watch a higher quaility version. Fifty-fifty videos that are uploaded at 720p or 1080p resolution, past default, will show upwardly equally either 320p or 480p. Yous can still sentry the higher-resolution video, but you lot have to manually select that version (if it's available). Click on the gear icon & select the quality that y'all desire.
